No, there is some sort of bug which is doing this. I've reported it on Slack and I'm not sure if anyone has seen it. Took them a while to even make addon functional in Firefox 64bit...

I just had a good laugh, I visited avast.com and seeing the avastUI on a representative laptop and it takes up most of the damn screen, yet the UI is virtually empty.

But I saved the best to last, see attached image - Fewer clicks, more intuitive and easy to use. A lot of users on these forums would disagree with some of these according to some of their posts.

I also get question on how to access one or another feature or setting within Avast.
Many of the seniors I interact with are confused about all of the changes and wish avast was still using
this interface:

Change just for the sake of change has never been something I liked.
It certainly isn't something most older users appreciate.

There have been some really great UIs along the way from 4.x on, for me it would be a toss up between avast 7 & avast 8 for the best interface. But many of the early UIs after the skinable avast 4.x have been also been reasonably good.

I really did like the ability to set your own most used shortcuts in your image.

They got rid of that and despite the support for revamping the right click (context menu) of the avast tray icon that we have been asking for, nothing, nada, zero, zilch. I would have thought that would have been one of the easier mods, still nothing. This really would have reduced the number of clicks (to the commonly used functions) making it more intuitive and easy to use.

This release is stable and I don't see any major issues with it.

It would be nice if you could improve the speed of how fast the UI loads.

We are working on it, we know that it's not optimal now.

I downloaded the files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe and installed it over the top of the last avast beta version also 17.2.2288.

It is identical (using about avast) to the last beta in that both the version number and build number. There must surely have been changes to take account of the known issues in the last beta release.

Consequent to that installation I haven't yet been asked to reboot as I would expect on a 'program update' perhaps because it too doesn't see it has changed ???

You basically installed the same binaries over, so no restart needed. You were just switched from beta update channel to production update channel.

Still no Pause Button  >:(

And still no direct/easy access to my.avast.com account from the Avast User Interface.

Account will be enabled next week, the pause button will be added but we are changing the screen a little bit more, adding also information about the file scanned. I expect the changes to be live in April.

In the UI ,no more "AIDE" "?" ("HELP") , "Get started" in french langage , only in english.

Some of us said (already about 17.1.2286) , it was fixed in beta , I don't know , I don't want , but no more with 17.2.2288  :-[
It will be fixed next week

It does not work in the new version of a full scan, hangs at 0 per cent, and all the hour and two and nothing changes.

Known issue. Will be fixed in future release.
Thanks for your help in solving the problem of my)))

It does the anti-rootkit scan but it isn't presented in UI so don't worry it isn't doing NOTHING ;-). we will fix that

Smart scan repeating still not fixed! If i click on notificatication, it run again. Also scan inside virus chest don't work too. I thought Avast release bug free version now....

We know about it, fix should be live in week or two. sorry for the inconvenience
