Multiple check marks on avast site check is this normal?
« on: March 13, 2017, 03:06:05 AM »
Is this normal? When I browse google chrome with avast on some sites I see one check mark on some sites but on other sites I see multiple checks.

It used to not do this. Now it does all of a sudden.

Is this a virus?

see photos below

im paranoid because I am the admin on a forum and there were polish spammers and I stupidly clicked on their links (the avast webshield was on) i put the links in google translate and they were dumb lose weight spam and viagra spam (Sorry to get  graphic  :)

But I ran avast immediately and it said their were no viruses.

Is this normal?

should I worry?

thank you very much for your help and time :)

It is normal in the Windows version of Avast if you have installed the Avast On-line Security (AOS) browser security add-on. It is pre-checking sites listed in searches against its database to give you an idea if it is good or bad, etc. Hover your mouse pointer over the check mark and it expands.

If you are actually using Avast Mac Security (I don't use Avast Mac Security), then I can only think that this has now been included in it.

I am using avast for mac. I'll keep an eye on my computer it hasn't been acting buggy the only issue is the multiple checkmarks.

SO YOUR SAYING THIS IS NORMAL EVEN FOR AVAST FOR MAC?

I next time won't stupidy click links to avoid getting viruses though

As an avast user, not employee, I'm only saying it is a normal feature in the avast for windows version as I don't use the avast for mac I can't personally confirm that.

I had been hoping that someone else actually using avast for mac would have jumped in to confirm this.

Ordinarily (in the windows version of avast) an add-on is required in your browser, (Security browser extension) also known as Avast Online Security (AOS) add-on. You could check your browser to see if this is present.

You could also browse this sub-forum to see if it is mentioned, I would suggest starting with this topic [Release] Avast Mac Security 12.4 .

This is possibly the same version you have ?
If so you could ask in there.
