HIDS = Hostbased Intrusion Detection System (your computer)
HIPS = Hostbased Intrusion Prevention System
NIDS = Network Intrusion Detection System (network)

I believe Avast already has this within the program.

If you take a look at the task manager and you should see aswidsagent.exe, which I believe means Intrusion Detection System.

The Behaviour Shields should also go some way to protection against intrusions as what they do is likely to be suspicious behaviour.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 21.11.2500 (build 21.11.6809.528) UI 1.0.683/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security
