KB911564=RPC ERROR?

Hi all, nice to be back...I've got a PB 
I notice that when I make a Windows update, Bill wants me to download the famous KB911564 (WMP related security update)...
but when I do what Bill wants me to do, Avast! don't work anymore (famous RPC ERROR) :'(
I've made surch here...without result :

...so I'm a little bit "lost in space"

Hi Niko,

Have you already tried a repair of avast?

BTW, I've had KB911564 (and KB911565) since Feb 15, 06 with no problems.

Like mauserme, I have also had this update since the middle of Feb without any problems.

I've got a laptop for business and I've made a comparison between it  and my desktop at home (both have Avast! of course, and same OS :
my laptop is updated (Windows latest updates) without conflict with Avast!...this is my desktop wich can't stand KBxxxxxx with Avast!
Xfile is knocking on my door

Niko, if anything else works...
1. Uninstall avast / boot / install / boot.
2. If fails, check the Services to see if they're working properly (automatic and manual).
3. If fails, uninstall the Windows update for a while, install and set avast, see if works.
4. Post the results
