Hi Niko,

Have you already tried a repair of avast?

BTW, I've had KB911564 (and KB911565) since Feb 15, 06 with no problems.

Welcome back, niko.    :)

Like mauserme, I have also had this update since the middle of Feb without any problems.

Hi Mauserme, Hi CharleyO!
thanks for you responses 8)
I've got a laptop for business and I've made a comparison between it  and my desktop at home (both have Avast! of course, and same OS 8):
my laptop is updated (Windows latest updates) without conflict with Avast!...this is my desktop wich can't stand KBxxxxxx with Avast!
Xfile is knocking on my door ;D
Don't worry men, I'll survive, thanks again for your help.

Help is hard to find out, even here...

Niko, if anything else works...
1. Uninstall avast / boot / install / boot.
2. If fails, check the Services to see if they're working properly (automatic and manual).
3. If fails, uninstall the Windows update for a while, install and set avast, see if works.
4. Post the results  8)
