Win32:Trojan-gen {other}

Avast has detected a virus:  Win32:Trojan-gen.{other}
in:
C:/system volume information\_restore {31414675-6CBE-4639-8F67-8C2E395D7683} RP67\A0014660.exe
I can't seem to get rid of it.  Please help.

Had the same problem yesterday, tried everything until had to delete the files but now my system is lacking some files and not running properly check my first posting and the reply from another user.

had the same problem, the file was
F:/windows/isnsys.dll
i've deleted it.... now let's see how windows does xp work without it

it is safe to delete it is dropped by the trojan according to mcafee

Hi,

the Trojan-gen is a generic name for large and growing number of trojan horses. Vast majority of them is possible to delete.
However, the "system volume information" folder is a place where the Windows function "System restore" stores copies of the files. It isn't possible to delete in this folder. You can either order Avast to delete the file when system starts, or switch off the function System restore and let it deletes the "Restore point". If you have a clean Restore point, you can try let the function restores system to it.

ok
i found other 2 trojan-gen and i deleted them.

then i went out.... and my father phoned me: just another virus alarm... i said: just push repair.... suddenly my pc internal speaker started to play like an ambulance... i could hear it  by my phone!!!!
I said: dad turn off everything

now i'm at home
i've just finished a scan with avast and everything is ok, the same with "The Cleaner" and ad-aware 6.0
now i'm scanning with the freeScan at http://us.mcafee.com....

what happened???  ???

update 30/12 12.56:
a now trojan found in my computer: Win32:RPCexploit
it looks like an infestation...
