Network Drives

Hi,

I have a couple of PCs with a mapped drive letter to a server based file share. The server has its own antivirus product- the PCs have AVAST v4 pro (latest build). Is there any way of configuring the AVAST PCs to permanently shut down its network shield from the ADNM?

I'm not sure I understand the question. The thing is, the "Network Shield" provider is NOT what you probably think. It's a network filter, working on the TCP layer, taking care of network attacks such as Blaster or Sasser.

If you're asking about how to exclude the server shares from Standard Shield's scanning, that's another thing. In ADNM, go to the On-access Scanning Tasks folder, edit the properties of the task of choice, and in the Standard Shield section, Advanced page, add something like

\\servername\*

to the list of scanning exceptions.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving's not for you.
