MacBook blocking Avast system extensions for File, Mail, and Web Shields

Couldn't find a solution on the forum that worked, so here's what I did to ALLOW these extensions...
Close the Avast app (it's OK if the icon is still active in the main menu).
Click the ALLOW button in the Security and Privacy window of Preferences.
The ALLOW button disappears.
Open AVAST.
Enable the shields.
All is right with the world.

Assuming you are referring to the new Application permissions in the recent MacOS Mojave?
