We are still waiting for an avast team member to help figure out why you cannot uninstall your flawed avast install.
If the offline install package works let us know.

I'm almost 100% sure it will work.

I tried the offline installer and it worked but it doesn't update. There is no firewall installed so I have no idea what could possibly block this connection.

Maybe you got avast free (without firewall) with the link that gave you mchain #15 ?

No, I downloaded Avast free from this side:
https://www.avast.com/download-software

I didn't mean the program has no firewall but I have no other firewall installed. So I don't get why avast can't update itself. There is always an "unknown error". It's like with the online installer, avast can't connect to the internet.

If you have Windows 10 then you have the systems Windows 10 Firewall installed, is Defender running when no 3rd party AV is installed?

Deactivating windows firewall doesn't help.
is Defender running when no 3rd party AV is installed?
Do I have to uninstall avast again to check this?

No, not automatically.

I installed avast again but I still can't update.

Try this:  https://www.avast.com/download-update

Sometimes downloading the full vps file and installing fixes the port block you are experiencing.

I use them already to update avast (Avast VPS update for versions 12+) but I still can't connect for automatic updates  :(

Look in your firewall (either Windows or Avast) to find what port is being blocked at the time you try to update manually.

There is no port being blocked. Even with Windows firewall turned off I can't update and avast free has no firewall included.

PS: Sorry the image is in German but I can't even change the language without avast having server access.

OK.

Try changing your router firewall security settings from high to medium or low.  Any joy?

Hmm, there is not really an option for different security settings. I could set a port free though.
