Since you use (and undoubtedly pay a fair bit for) your own servers, obviously you have more control over your php (and any other board software) than if you were using someone else to host, particularly a free host.
Is the user's map thing an extra-cost feature of php? Another group I frequent uses SMF 1.0.6, but on a free server, and the only way they've found to set up a similar map is via Frappr, which is a royal pain to use.
Or was the map thing "standard" in your version of php but maybe dropped from later versions?
I'm trying to help them find a good mapping service, and have always liked the one here, so am trying to find what options are open to them.
