Scheduled Scans Cancel at 99%
« on: April 04, 2017, 10:52:45 PM »
I'm using v 17.3.2291   Since the update to this version, scheduled scans (both Quick and Full) run when scheduled but leave a pop-up that says the scan was cancelled at 99%.  It looks like the scans run their full course.  The pop-up has the button to see details which starts another (Quick or Full ) scan again.  I've attached an image of the pop-up.

When running a quick/full scan and leaving the toaster in the corner, the scan completes successfully. However, the toaster icon says "Scan Canceled - [insert number] usually 99%".

The scan actually completes successfully but the toaster icon wrongly reports it as cancelled.

This is known bug and will be fixed when the toaster popups move to CEF.

@Alikhan

I would have thought that Avast would attend to this as a matter urgency as it gives an impression of a failed scan and dents customer confidence (& I am a massive Avast advocate)

BTW, This was the result that came up when I searched on Google and reckon a bit more sympathy to someone (larrymcg) who may be panicking that something has affected his machine/defences would be more appropriate than your curt slap.

The current BETA has moved some aspects of the GUI to CEF. I expect this bug to be fixed for the next stable release which should happen within 2-3 weeks.

It wasn't a "curt slap" at all as I see it.

Many things already have been explained/told (etc) on this webboard.
If people do some (re)search before posting they mostly can find the answer to their question/problem themselves.
That means the voluntary helpers don't have to repeat the same thing over and over again.
It also mean that they have/can spend more time on more important things.
e.g. giving help with malware removal which is more important than just a GUI bug that avast has to fix.

It's now at least 2 months since this bug was first reported and still no fix!  What gives?

same happens to me, just at 93%
There is a red exclamation point next to "Performace Issues Found"  It says cancelled, but there is always a check next to passwords.

When is "soon?"

After the beta is cleared for release. Because of the nature of beta testing, it would be hard to give an exact time frame for release to a regular program update release. If bugs haven't been squashed in the beta and they are not minor cosmetic issues, then they can hardly release it to a regular program update.

OK, it's now NOVEMBER.  Is it "soon" yet?  I'm still getting the error.
