Updated over 17.3.2291 but it looks like nothing has changed ???

This should fix most of the toaster notification bugs. For example, when a scan completes successfully, the toaster said it was cancelled. That should be fixed now.

I see, thanks for the info. :)

I thought settings screen is finally changed to CEF, but it seems it's not.

We can still do installs on XP PRO SP3 using the Full Off Line Installers ? ? And did they or will they fix the Behavior Shield turning itself OFF now and then under XP PRO SP3 ? ? (so far no issues in Win 10 Home 64 Bit) .. Note this did not happen in the last major full release of the Avast Free (I think it started with 17.3.2291 / build 17.3.3443.0)

Okay, I'm not understanding.  What scenario will not be supported anymore?
Using the Offline Installer on Windows XP?
Are you saying that right now an Offline Install on Windows XP crashes and that won't be fixed?

Can you expand on exactly is meant by this:
"offline installation on Win XP without internet connection crashes" Surely this is the whole point of an off-line installer (not needing an internet connection, so why would/does it crash in XP ?

"this scenario will not be supported anymore" exactly what won't be supported ?

I would hate to see the on-line installation being the only option.

I would agree, they must keep the full off line installers fully functional for any OS ... If anything kill the use of these idiotic, problematic stub / on line installers. It is much faster for me to spend say 3 minutes downloading the Whole Installer, which I can then run at my convenience either on line or off line, or if I need to reinstall a program at a later time, when the original version might not be around again.

Is it possible this update (from 2291) reset all my settings? Seems like it.

Otherwise smooth upgrade.

There is limitation only for this case:
- you are running Win XP
- you want to install Avast with offline installer when computer is offline
- if online, everything will work as you are used to

Reason for this is that we want to increase installers size which would be required in this case cauz of ending support of CEF for WinXP.

For other cases, offline installer will work under all circumstances.

Clarify: Can I use the OFF LINE INSTALLER on my XP box to install Avast Free in the future ? ? ?
My XP box is connected to internet, but I intensely dislike using Stub Installers
And from what I was told, Avast would not dropping support for XP anytime soon

This beta download is 284MB for the free off-line installer, how much larger are we talking about for future updates.

What CEF are you talking about as there are a shed load of CEF acronyms and several relating to computers ?

I believe it was beta since it was auto-updated to 2292. Confirmed the same settings reset on my laptop.
