Here's the story: I installed Avast Password add-on over a year ago and have used it in my Firefox without any problems. After a few months and after a few Firefox and Avast updates I noticed that the add-on was gone. Since I didn't store that many passwords in it and I could remember all of them I didn't really care about fixing this problem back then. Now however, I would like to start using it again, so I went to Avast settings and checked that all my passwords are still stored there, I just needed to download and install the add-on again. I did that, made sure that the add-on is active in my Firefox, but it wouldn't work - there is no red key icon in the login/password fields on any website for which I store the login info. When I open the Browser integration section of Password settings in Avast, the status says "add-on not installed". Reinstalling the add-on does not help.

I'm using Firefox 52.0.2, Avast 17.3.2291, Win 8.1 64-bit.

I'd be grateful for your advice. If this has already been discussed on this forum, please share a link.

Many people have the answer and you can find them in other threads.
There is a "workaround" for the problem.
