This happened when I just had installed windows and updated it with update installer from microsoft website, and other downloads were only avast and firefox, thats all i had done with PC at that point. Avast popped up and said it found some unreputable toolbar thing, but didnt really tell me what it was, there was only one "line" to be checkboxed, and it read only "Addon" and "Firefox" at the end, i think, cant really remember exactly, but I remember it didnt actually tell anything. I decided to skip the warning.

Then i went to look what addons the browser had, and it only had the ones i installed earlier: noscript, ublock. And then the unactive ones; avast online security, avast safebrowsing

And second issue:

I was looking at EventLog file in avast folder, and found warning messages:
14/04/2017   18:48:28   Internal error has occurred in module aswar scan function failed!, function A000010E.
16/04/2017   15:38:59   Internal error has occurred in module aswar scan function failed!, function A000010E.

Third issue:

This same thing applies to all shield txt files:

Why do my shields get turned off? I tried to think if those are when PC is shutdown, but i just turned PC on after waking up and pc was turned off for like 12 hours and it doesnt show up in this log. I have never seen any notification that shields are turned off.

Hello,

I have had the same issue on Avast Internet Security, saying there was :

We found an UNREPUTABLE ADD-ON in your browser  :-\

When going to clear this issue, the next pop-up window does not mention which browser and/or account that is affected. Nor does it mention the name of the add-on, that is oh, so horrible that it has to be popped up as a warning or advisory. I have a Windows 10 PC with 5 accounts (my account the administrator).

When is AVAST! going to add more value to this; as there is nothing I want to change here unless it's for a good reason.

Cheers!
Bob

You can see in the log file what was detected.

Sorry, there is squat in those logfiles about anything.
These are annoying pop-up message that don't contribute to anything and I'll be damned if I let Avast remove something without knowing what it is.

Guys, this would appear to be the browser cleanup or CleanUp at work here, not the conventional shields or scans so there doesn't appear to be any report file generation for that.

This is probably part of the Smart Scan and that doesn't have a specific scan log the AV scan log is Viruses & Malware.txt in the report folder.  I could well be wrong here as I have a minimal installation which only has the Viruses & Malware and Software Updater in the Smart Scan.

The only other module that runs is the Software Updater that runs in the Smart Scan and I don't see any information in the Smart Scan settings related to reports of other components.

I get Unreputable addon. This has been happening for months now. Trying to skip or resolve achieves nothing. The logs contain no useful information. Scanning my system with Avast and Malwarebytes shows it to be clean.
It's very annoying, but I think it's a false flag to be ignored.

I'm also having the same issue, I have been for a while, on 2 different computers (one of which is new).  The only thing they would have in common in terms of web browser add-ons would be NoScript. I know someone in the comments before mine mentioned having NoScript. I wonder if NoScript is somehow triggering this. Apart from that, it could be that we are all using FireFox and Avast is partnered with Chrome. It could be some kind of false flag intended to get us to doubt FireFox, though I don't like the idea of Avast purposefully falsifying information just to get us to switch browsers.

To be clear, I keep my PC pretty clean, I scan for viruses daily, and I'm pretty careful about what sites I expose my PCs to.

Further Information: When Avast brings up about an unreputable add-on and I click it, it says that it's resolved. This would indicate that there was nothing there. In old versions of this, it would show you the add-on and you could choose to get rid of it or not. Even more recently it did this.
