suggestion: spam-issue
« on: December 16, 2003, 03:53:30 PM »
Maybe this could be a good idea to include a feature that standard blocks some famous spam-spyware
e.g: Gator, auto-dialers, BonziBuddy,... ect.

I am not running spyware on my computer. But maybe it might be a nice extra feature to block the most popluair spyware-files.

I know there are free tools specialised in this.

What do you think bout this? or am i just acting lame  ::)

greetings

I think that would be too much for an AV..  ::)
I remember that VLK posted a thread about adding a FW to avast4, most of us refused the idea..(I was a beta tester of Trend Micros Internet Security suit, and I did not like it at all  :( :( ).
IMHO concentrating on the virus/trojan detection fiield is the best thing Alwil team should do..

Sorry, John, this was fully discussed here  :'(

and I post my suggestions, after all, here.

Anyway, could be another, stand-alone program of Alwil Software  ;D

Yeah, I remember a bunch of us shooting that down in flames a while back.

There are plenty of really good and free anti spyware and adware programs out there.  There is also good spamware out there like SpamPal and Technical knows of other good spamware.  I think he uses something other than Spampal.

Personally I use Spybot, Ad-Aware, and SpamPal.

I tried SpamPal by your suggestion... Seems to be good and efficient...
Anyway, I changed to Spamihilator (a mantra's suggestion, where is he by the way, I do not see any post of him anymore  :'().

Thanks Cul...  ;D and you too John  ;)
