Install custom addons
« on: April 28, 2017, 11:00:52 PM »
Hi,

I'm trying to install a custom addon into the avast safezone browser.
My problem is, the savezone browser is blocking the .crx file from being installed.

Is there a way to install custom addons? Something like an advanced dev mode?

Ofcourse there is no such thing as "advanced dev mode"
That would beat the purpose of being a SAFEzone browser.

Same is for installing add-ons/plug-ins.

The addon I want to install is 100% trusted. Safezone is a simple chrome wrapper so why is there no way to access chrome dev features?

You are wrong.
The SafeZone browser is NOT a "Chrome wrapper".
It is build on Chromium which is something entirely different then Chrome.

The whole point of the SafeZone browser is it has limited add-ons that are built in and external add-ons can't be added.

It doesn't matter if they are 100% trusted or not, if that installation function was available then who is to say what other add-ons could be installed.

Okay, then I can't use the safezone browser, because I can't add my addons and lastpass. Nice.

I don't use safezone, so I don't know if A: it has a password management function or B: allows you to import passwords.

The SafeZone browser isn't designed to replace your own browser, but to be used for banking and or shopping, etc.

So the "Get extensions" link from the dropdown to an under construction page which promises, that, when ready "You'll be able to customize and enhance your SafeZone browser any way you'd like" is just an advertising stunt?
