ok well am guessing Avast Has done it again, this time Broke all my Steam Games.  Left 4 Dead 2 Portal 2 and lots more. When loading any Steam game it give a little popup that the game is loading but the game never actually loads.  Turning OFF a;; Services all the games actually work, so if this persists I will request my Money Back and go to a different Security Setup. I have been an Avast Sub for a long time but never have I had this happen to any of my games excepting for when I have AVG Security Suite Update it also broke my Steam Games. So Please Fix this ASAP or if its not in 3 days then will request a refund and go to another product.  Angry Upset and I also think some how Avast has Broken my Audio too. Not my analog but my Digital, ever since I have had Avast Premier seems things have been stopping working all because of this Program. This is my 2nd Post about this and well please Stop breaking my system and fix it.  My VSX523K Receiver has Totally stopped, but seems that is not th eonly issue over the Digital as now my Radio stopped so going to run a rtest and get my 522 from the living room and put this one the 523 in there and run tests on both systems. One a Full Home Theater System and this my system a Gaming Rig.
Love my Games as am older and Disabled GW2 Aion BnS SWTOR and so many more.

The problem has already been solved.
Perform a clean installation of avast (might even use the beta)

re: new version overlooked Edge vulnerability for spyware that Spyhunter was identified as capable of rooting out

shouldn't they have an "Edge" scan, too, available for malware in this new version?

I get his pop up from spyer-author alerting  me that credit card info is being sent from my PC now due to its virus now embedded but AVAST, my trusty sidekick, lays there like sleepy dog not alerting me to squat, meaning this encounter fell outside its "radar"

the hack recording singing to me says to call an (844) number immediately; I googled a lil to find there's a known spyware that Spyhunter [software aimed at this vulnerability] can "remove" but I'm not yet in the mood to put ol' Yella down

anyway, it only happens in edge browser on rare occasion in Edge which is recommended for my WINDOWS 10

ps, I do get an occasional pop up from AVAST saying I've got a "disreputable" add-on in browser but no button to remove it, so I SKIP out to escape the popup

There is no tool that detects all malware.

avast is scanning the data traffic from Edge (as well as all other browsers)

spyer-author ?
Did you made a typo ?
If not remove that crap and yes it is.
Legitimate tools would not have such a very obvious wrong spelling.

Edge recommend for W10 ?
Come on, the only one who is doing so is Microsoft.

You can only remove bad-ons with avast if you have a license for CleanUp or are using the stand-alone BCU.

Because they install it as part of the OS default browser/s and hope that you will use it, thanks but no thanks.

Avast Premier version does not start scanning USB drive when connected to computer.
You specifically have to start Removable Drive Scan.
Even latest version doesn't have this feature.
Every basic antivirus has this feature.

Every basic antivirus has this feature.

If there is any activity from that USB drive then it would be scanned by the (on-access scanner) file system shield, it you have a USB drive that isn't active what is the point of scanning it. I would have thought that you would want a full scan of all content of a large capacity USB Drive as soon as it is plugged in.

Just to add, if your AV were to scan your USB drive each time you inserted it and, if that was a large USB drive,
you could be waiting a long time before you ever got access to that drive.
Avast only scans activity and makes sure that's safe. This gives you quick and safe access to your USB device.

On Windows XP SP3 I have had UI Failed to load problem since updating to 17.4.2291. Today I updated (in hope!) to  program 17.4.2294 (Build 17.4.3482.0)  - but  I still have the 'UI failed to load' problem!! Any chance of a real fix?
I had the same problem with avg on xp sp3. Uninstalled and tried avast but same problem ui failed to load. My resolution came about quite by accident after ui problem went on for 5 days at least. I wanted a repair/ cleanup program so I installed advanced system care 10. I couldn't believe it but after running this the UI came right up for me and now Avast is working great..
