I don't know how iObit did this update, but I have little trust of iObit software from years ago.

There was an out of support windows update for winXP, Vista and win8.0, there is a topic on the forums that mentioned this MS security update.  I downloaded the one for XP SP3 and installed it and no issues with the UI loading.

I also had no problem with the UI loading on any of the avast 17.x.xxxx versions on this XP Pro SP3 system. So there to this UI not loading than it only happening with XP.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

I fully share your justified lack of faith in IObit, but this is the oldest of my 2 XP machines and it was given to me 7 years ago when the screen died. It only works now on mains power and I have to use it on its side because the fan doesn't work. I like XP and I use the other XP machine for Office and Excel. For business and 'proper' Internet business I use either my Windows 10 or Windows 7 machines. I have no qualms about putting this machine at risk and when it eventually succumbs to malware, ransomware, viruses, or it just burns out it can go in the skip with no hard feelings. I wouldn't have clicked the IObit link with any of the other machines but this is pretty much a test board machine with no consequences.  ;D

For what it's worth I have 2 restore points for today. On 1 Avast worked, and on the other it didn't. I hoped that would help but if it didn't i'm sorry for wasting your time. For what it's worth IObit did load an MS update that I otherwise couldn't access. I did check it with Belarc Advisor and that update did pass a MS certificate check. I'm not 100% convinced the update was meant for this operating system and since I did the restore I haven't been offered that on-screen link again.  ???

Hi, I have the same message, UI Failed to Load, I have sent a ticket as I seem to have 2 valid licences, one for one device, and one for 3 devices. The latest licence email says it will update automatically. I have tried to install again hoping that it would just update, I have downloaded licences and activation codes but still get the same message. I seem to have paid for 2 products, but haven't any protection, as my pc is not protected from viruses.  I have not had a reply from the Avast Team, has anyone else had this problem, I'm quite annoyed as I have somehow paid twice for no protection.  Unfortunately, I am not 'techy' so am stuck and avoiding doing certain actions on my pc for fear of hacking and viruses.
