Comodo firewall configuration

Tech,

ZA may not work for you, but it is "Old Reliable" for my computers.  Everyone should use whatever firewall works best for their computers.  Jetico works great on my desk top, but it has problems on my laptop.  I hope the next upgrade of Jetico will work good on my laptop.  My laptop would greatly benefit from the low resource demand of Jetico.  JPF is staying on my desk top.  For now it is ZA on my laptop.

The subject of this thread is "Comodo firewall configuration".  Comodo 2.000 needs a configuration fix.  Although I configured it for Google Web Accelerator, GWA still wouldn't work.  GWA worked without problem on Comodo 1.xxx.  Comodo 2.000 uses 60% more RAM than Comodo 1.xxx.

It just not only work in my computer that even I'm using it now

My Task Manager showed 3 components running for each version of Comodo.  The largest amount for 2.ooo was 34+ megs of RAM.  1.xxx showed 22+ megs of RAM.   

ZA free had 2 components running, the largest was 13+ megs.  Jetico had 1 component running, 4+ megs of RAM.

I briefly tried Softperfect Personal Firewall, 1+ megs of RAM.

I actually had amount of 45+ used RAM.  Just try to surf non-stop for hour or two...  I saw my system started "chocking" from time to time. comodo was eating too much, it was the reason...

GWA works perfectly fine here with Comodo 2.0. Whats the problem you have?

I allowed all appication alerts for GWA.  I triple checked all settings, green light for all GWA settings in one set & in the other everything was "allow".  I don't know what the problem is.  GWA worked fine with Comodo 1.xxx.

Thank you for your offer to help, but I dumped Comodo & returned to ZA Free.

I'd really like to get JPF working on my laptop.  JPF works great on my desktop.   JPF uses little RAM & still out did all other firewalls in the leak test comparison.  Plus JPF & ZA Free  don't come with spyware unlike Comodo.  Trust Toolbar is adware &  adware is spyware!  It spys on our computers to know what ads to show.  I got trust toolbar when I downloaded Comodo.

Please understand that I am not disagreeing with you on the Trust Toolbar, but, the page in your first link has an XoftSpy SE ad at the bottom ... with which some people have had problems. In fact, the page is from the parent company of XoftSpy.

I don't know.  My antispyware programs never found Trust Toolbar until after I downloaded Comodo Firewall.  You do the math.  1+1=2 for me.

Yeah I see what you mean.  Although I think Comodo's firewall is excellent I really do not want to be dealing with a company that installs adware / spyware.  I guess I may go back to Kerio I don't know.

In my post in the thread "Firewall leaktests 2006", Reply #43, I copied & pasted an article from http://www.thundercloud.net/infoave/archives2005/week-203.htm about Comodo products containing spyware.  There was a lot of stuff on that page, so I thought it best to paste the relevant issue.  Those were not my words, they were the words of the person writing the article.
  They claim Comodo firewall doesn't have spyware, but I found differently.

Just some information. I HAD been using Comodo Firewall, the 1.? version. I also have the paid for version of Spysweeper. When I would run a scan with spysweeper it would find this Trusttool bar in the Comodo program and list it as spyware. I e-mailed Comodo about this. Got an answer from a guy of the first name of Gary from Comodo. He stated that even though he acknowledged the tool bar was there he was very adament in telling me it was NOT spyware. He stated it was very hard to convince companies like Spysweeper to change their way of reporting this.
    I didn't want to keep seeing this so I went and changed to Sunbelt Kerio P.F. I know folks have said it fails the leaktest. I have talked to the techs at Kerio. They say if you go into networks, applications, advanced, instead of simple and tell the program to "ask" on both incoming and outgoing requests under trusted sites and Internet it Will pass the leak test. Just thought I would let you know of my experiences. Have a nice day.

Spysweeper creates a VERY WRONG report guys. It just looks at the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Comodo and if this key exists, then it reports there is a trusttoolbar spyware. If you go and look at that key, you will see that the key is used by comodo firewall.

So I am pretty sure that antispyware spysweeper works incorrectly in detecting this adware.

You can try to rename the key and rescan to see that they just look at the existance of the key but no further. You will see that spysweeper wont detect trusttoolbar. 
BTW, I have asked this to Comodo Support and verified my details.
