Avast webshield blocks all https sites on Firefox
« on: August 18, 2016, 07:45:00 PM »
I installed Avast and tried using Firefox. I am not allowed to visit any https websites while the webshield and "scan secured connections" is turned on. I'm not even able to visit the Avast website. See image: https://s4.postimg.io/ibvwk4gt9/Screenshot_2016_08_18_19_34_24.png
Is there anyway to have the webshield turned on and to browse the internet, or has Avast only installed this feature to urge people to use Google Chrome, which runs without a single problem?

What OS/SP ?
What exact version of avast ?
What exact version of Firefox ?
Is there any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)

And please attach a image next time instead of posting it somewhere on the net.

What happens if you remove the /de-de/ from the URL ?
It may be the geo-location transfer to your language that may do it.

Hello, I reply to this post to not create a similar one. It's been few months ago Avast! webshield first blocked me all websites (even http). Today, just after the last Firefox update, the same problem happened again. When I disable my webshield only I can access to Internet web pages. It doesn't happen frequently (maybe it is just after a ff update) but it occured at least 4 times in ... 6+ weeks.
My OS is Windows 8.1, Firefox 53.0.3(32bits), Avast 17.4.2294(build 17.4.3482.0)
In the other hand, I doubt it's because of Firefox update because it also blocked on Internet Explorer (version 11.0.9960.18666)

Oh, and completly off topic : the exclamation mark disapeared from "Avast" ? Before it was "Avast!" !

Perform a clean installation of the latest avast version and check if the problem is solved.

I didn't reinstall Avast, and as expected the next day it didn't bug anymore. My Avast version is still 17.4.2294 (build 17.4.3482.0). For me this problem is recurrent and I know that it will happen again in few weeks. Maybe it is because of the updates I don't know, but it's anoying.
I doubt that you get enough informations to correct this with my testimony, I can answer to question or come back in this post the next time it happens.
