Why is Avast leaking my IP address?
« on: May 28, 2017, 01:05:39 PM »
Why is an Avast server leaking my IPv6 address and location? I use PIA as a VPN provider and when I go to DNS leak test and IP/DNS Detect they both show my locating and DNS leak test points back to Avast.

If this is Avasts attempt to encourage sales of their own VPN service it's a bad ploy. I've used Avast for years, but this, this will have me looking for another AV, and have me recommending something different to friends and customers as well.

As you don't use secureline, it is not avast doing so.

Then why is it that only Avast shows up on the DNS leak test site, their server, maybe you over looked the result I posted in my previous statement?

It needs to be pointed out that 70.32.35.142 is not an IPv6 address.
