Remove current license and use the new license
« on: May 29, 2017, 04:45:32 AM »
Hello everyone.

I just bought the 2 years version of the SecureLine VPN.
But, just before doing that, I got the 30 day trial.
Now I want to replace the current trial license witht the new one, but I can't do that.

Is there any way to do that?

Thank you.

Nori-chan,

What was the way you found to activate your license?
Windows 10 Home 64-bit 22H2 Avast Premier Security version 24.1.6099 (build 24.1.88821.762)  UI version 1.0.797
 UI version 1.0.788.  Windows 11 Home 23H2 - Windows 11 Pro 23H2 Avast Premier Security version 24.2.6105 (build 24.1.8918.827) UI version 1.0.801

Nori-chan,

Just double click the new license file and let Avast do the rest.
But I still think that there should be a way to change the license in the configuration.

Hi Nori-chan,

Yep, I think that (double-clicking the license) is the way to go.  It helps if you are also connected to the Internet when you do this.

What do you want to change about the license?  What would be different about license configuration for you?

The only thing I would change is that even if Avast already have a license for the VPN (or anything, in my opinion), I should be able to switch between licenses, or just remove them to use in another device.

If I could just do that, then I would just switch them only by clicking on a button "Switch license"

And since each license should be used by 1 PC, what if I buy another license and want to use the older one in another computer for whatever reason?

Or maybe, I buy the CleanUp tool and activate it, but I want to actually use it in another computer.

That's is just what I think.

Nori-chan,

All valid points.  Some of them I think you can do, but let me point you to avast FAQ's and you should be able to get an answer there.   :)

If you need to narrow it down, suggest going with VPN licenses and so on.  Scroll down to see what I mean.
