Subscription Renewal Failing
« on: May 31, 2017, 03:46:35 PM »
Hi Lads and Lasses

My Avast license is due to expire soon and I've been trying really hard to renew it but I'm being defeated at every turn.

I have version 17.4.2294 on Windows 10 Pro and I have done the following:
  • uninstalled & reinstalled (using the offline version)
  • requested a free license (and received it) from the website
  • clicked the renew button multiple times
  • searched for a renew section in the account portal

The License request cam through but the main issue with that is it's for a previous version. The instructions in the email are wrong and the key is wrong as it in this format XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXX not XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX as is required.

Since reinstalling this evening,
  • I cannot use the sign in button in the GUI as it just opens a blank tab(?)
  • I can now click on the "No thanks" link in the "Thank you for choosing Avast Free Anti Virus" page but that doesn't do anything

What do I do?

Unfortunately, they're either out of date or irrelevant to the problems listed.

No they are not and do apply.
You need to contact avast.

Alrighty then. Support contacted.

It's worth noting that the login to the GUI has been resolved.
I took a screenshot of the blank tab but cancelled the output and then the login options appeared immediately.
