Well that sucks and it's very unfortunate  :(. Avast Free has Anti-Ransomware in it, why can't AVG Free have it since Avast bought AVG?

Can you add a Bug System into AVG and to the Avast products please to du mit any Bugs of it See the Comodo Cloud Antivirus or any other Security products

Backup on external drive is the most reliable solution againts ransomware. There is no need for this shield in free version. If you want it, pay it, easy.
