free antivirus on an XP

The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library Kernel32.dll
is what i get when i try to use avast free on an xp.
does anyone know of the best free antivirus that works on XP
this forums verification is awfuly hard to read.

The latest version does work on XP but you need a CPU that supports the SSE2 instruction set.
All other (free and paid) av's I've checked require the same.

If possible, upgrade the CPU.
If it isn't possible it is time for new(er) system.

See a instruction set as a language and your CPU is the one who needs to listen to and understand it.
avast is talking in SSE2 but your CPU doesn't know the language and can't learn a new one.

Simply said it is time to say goodbye to that old system and to get something new(er) if you want to run nowadays applications.

I found out today HOW to get email notifications on this forum.
