I am interested in permitting a specific list of applications through the Sonicwall I have.

I have seen in the sonicwall weekly report some of the IP addresses needed for the avast application to update.

68.177.32.120
68.177.32.42

and also host names
h0540049.iavs5x.u.avast.com
t5085699.iavs5x.u.avast.com

I am wondering if there were a list of IPs, hostnames, and ports so I could white list the Avast application to connect to the internet?

There is no such list as the servers are changing constantly for security reasons.

If I remember correctly, everything has been explained in another thread on this webboard.

It really isn't a practical exercise as there are many update servers and they are also changing to meet the needs of user updates.

You can check the C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\setup\servers.def file (using notepad), but as I mentioned servers are constantly changing, so this file would also be updated.
