Why do you need to restore? Maybe we can help...

You know, Windows Restore is a joke, in my opinion. When we need it, it's gone, nothing...
Well, you need a full backup (image) of your system to be safe. Windows Restore left me alone a lot of time. I've give up of it.
Besides this, it's a safe place for virus and infections  :P

The Windows Restore feature DOES NOT allow recovering if software changes go bad...
It only tryes to restore DRIVERS (of hardware) and system files, NOT your data, your docs, your settings...
If I were you, I won't make software changes without having a floppy and CD working... if something goes wrong you won't be able to do nothing...

Hi gyllie,

Here is one of the best links on system restore:

But better make a ghost file on another partition to restore with after something goes wrong, also helps for restoring after a compromise.
