is using avastclear safe?
« on: June 22, 2017, 09:34:00 PM »
hi, i am new member here  :D

just want to ask, if my avast can't be updated (the AV always crash when I clicked update on the settings), should I clean my avast install using avastclear and try to reinstall avast? is it safe uninstalling avast?
all this time, I was a bit scared living without antivirus even for a while in windows safe mode (especially when wannacry run rampant last month), and I tried to force definitions update without updating the program. the result? now I have ffffffff-ff virus definiton according to about avast box lol
http://prntscr.com/fmzhju (here is the screenshot of my current program version and definitions)

Before doing a clean installation, I suggest you first run a repair and see if that is solving your problem.

None, you do it from control panel.

Let us know if it solved the problem or not.
If not, we take it from there.

also, what I've noticed is the clock in this log isn't correct. I'm using JST time in the computer I ran this repair command, which is June 23rd, 3:45 AM, but the log shows that I was running repair on June 22nd, 19:45 PM.

is this normal?

EDIT: my internet was working normal when I ran this repair

Change your DNS to the one from Google and try the repair again.
