Thanks for update. Stable and smooth.
Avast backup schedule is gone. Also "C:\Program Files\Common Files\AV\avast! Antivirus\backup.exe" is gone.
Testing files inside virus chest still not working.
On one of my PC AvastUI.exe constantly eat about 25% CPU in idle, no GUI opened. (Win 7 64bit). - only sometimes...
Sometimes behavior shield not start and must be started from GUI.
Still problem with popups randomly opening during tests.

After last update: AvastUI.exe taking one full core of my CPU and HDD working all the time. Avast scanning all files in background? How to stop this?

Hi everyone,
new stable version 17.5.2302 has just been released.

What's new:

<snip>
- Warnings added to notification center
....
- Notification counter added to tray icon
<snip>
We hope you enjoy the new version!
AVAST Team

If warnings have been added to the Notification centre, surely that would also show a count.

Given the size if the avast tray icon and if animation is enabled, is adding another element going to make this a mess. Many people have already complained about the avast blob (tray icon), it doesn't animate well at present without any addition.

How is this going to be presented ?
I ask this as I have yet to update my three systems as I wait on other user responses.
Unless this is going to be presented only when the user hovers over the tray icon or as a popup, in the same way as now:

Hi Dave, screenshot attached.

Thank you Asyn.
You are probably guessing my next question/s
What happens if you have other tray icon symbols, like the Exclamation point (a shield disabled, etc.) displayed ?
This has in the past prevented the animation of the tray icon.

I'm going to install it first on my XP system and see if the BSOD issues I had in one of the latter beta builds has gone, but first I must do a backup image of the drive.

Just tested it, the counter doesn't show up then.

My avast account had been loading for over an hour.

Also, can't see any difference between this version and the last stable release.

Edit: Still loading.

Thank you.
I suspected that as the tray icon in the past was only able to do one thing, static, rotate, or display a status or exclamation point.

I'm running my backup image on my XP system now in readiness to install.

As mentioned in the beta thread, translations for ransomware module are missing (German).
No more translated for french ---> edit : done ---> edit2 : There are still a few untranslated sentences

Also , the "NEW" indication never disappear from "Privacy" tab , but disappear with "ransomware"

Endless loading has been reported some time when windows time is in advance

Note to avast coders: Norton Ghost 2003 does not launch into a computer restart as it should, unless the Ghost.exe and GhostRestart.exe are added to the Exclusions in File Shield. This should not need to be done as Ghost has been around for quite awhile.
