How to disable windows 10 defender

I use bitdefender I'm working wondering is having defender antivirus part disable all that's needed or do I need to go into settings? If yes how.

I think I got you confused now, my bad but I was talking about windows defender antivirus part being disable.

As I said, Windows will disable defender as soon as another av is installed.
There is nothing you have to yourself.

Hi related to this post I have just had Updated version of windows 10,
I have noticed that defender has been activated.
I have always had avast, and Avast is up and running.
Will Avast (or windows 10) deactivate defender? as I am not sure how to do that on the defender interface.

When you install Avast (or any other third party AV) Defender turns off and is no longer the resident AV.
