Computer died; can I switch security to new computer?
« on: June 29, 2017, 05:35:45 AM »
My ASUS computer died. Fry's gave me a credit and I bought this new computer. I still have a paid up account here at avast that goes until the end of next year (2018). Can that account be transferred to my new computer?

Thanks to anyone that can help me.

Hi Asyn! I clicked on the link you provided for the OP but it requires that you uninstall Avast from your old device. My problem is that I can't access anything on my old laptop because the hard drive totally bit the dust. Can't even hard boot it. Any suggestions as to what I can do in this situation? Thanks in advance!  :D

Just remove the old device from your avast account.

It will work ;)

While at your account, download the license file there.
Use it to activated your subscription after installing avast on the new system.
