XP installs tend to have obsolete cpu's running, and that would mean fewer instruction sets vs. newer.
Yep, you need a CPU that supports SSE2.
Well you only need to check out my signature, my XP system has what was the second from top Intel Core2Duo chip at the time (expensive) and it still holds it own, no slouch and it supports much more than SSE2.
Yesterday I was doing some house keeping on my system clearing out old emails, data files, etc. when I came across my Custom built system invoice in just over 9 years old ordered on 27/6/2008. I pre-empted my order as at the point they were trying to phase out XP
