Paid for Internet Security But Trail Expired Pop-ups
« on: July 03, 2017, 07:35:36 PM »
I paid for a year subscription to Avast Internet Security; however, even after activation a pop-up stated I am not protected because the Avast Free Trail has expired.  After re-entering the activation code the same message pops up as if my Avast is not longer in effect.  How can I fix this?

Perform a clean installation and use your license file, not the activation code.

The activation code only has a limited number of uses, but the license file can be used without limitation.

If you haven't saved or can't find your license then try the - Resend avast License https://www.avast.com/resend-license-paid.php, you will need to enter the email that you used when purchasing the license, e.g. the one that the original email with the link was sent.

You could also log on to your my.avast.com account and assign your license to your installation.

Downloaded Avast setup, clean installed, inserted license file and all looked great until I displayed the "Status" window and it stated it is valid for two months.  I paid for a year.

Did you downloaded the license file through your avast account or through the link DavidR posted ?

If so and the problem is not gone, contact avast and ask them to have a look at it.

Is there a reason why you didn't want to follow the instructions supplied by DavidR. ???

I did exactly what he said to do but it still indicates only two months left.  I connected support.  ll wait to see what they say.  Thanks anyway.

It may take a while. Current wait time is about 15 business days for a reply.
