problems with the ''behavior shield'' +UI failed to load.
« on: July 09, 2017, 03:55:14 AM »
hello! i have avast free antivirus, and i use windows 7.

so, today, as i was browsing the internet, suddenly, my avast icon started to have a red ''X'' on it, and i clicked it in order to see what was going on.
it told me that ''all of your shields are de-activated'' (not by me!). (in short, it told me that ''I'm not protected'').

so, i tried to re-activate the shields again, and the program stuck, while i got a message saying 'UI failed to load. This is really embarrassing. AV service is not responding''. under that, it had two boxes: one that said 'exit'  and the other said 'restart service'.

i clicked on 'restart service', and i've got a message saying ''cannot connect with RPC'', and later on a message saying: ''cannot activate shield'' (namely the web/behaviour shields).

so, i disconnected from the internet, i clicked on the AVAST (un)install icon, and i choosed the ''repair program'' option.
it loaded up again, and i restarted the computer.

so now, the program seems to be working just fine, but there is ONE small problem:

the ''behavior shield''  gets de-activated every 5 seconds.
i go to the programs settings, i try to activate it again, everything seems fine, but the ''behavior shield'' just KEEPS deactivating itself.

can someone help me to fix this problem?
i think that this the work of a hacker.

PS: my avast program's version is:

17.5.2302 (build 17.5.3559.0)

(with a creation date of 26/6/2017)

and the virus signatures version is:
170707-0

both updates seem to be working nicely, without any problems.

i just need to find a way to keep my ''behavior shield'' on, and to stop it from de-activating itself every 5 seconds.

PPS: at one point, my program had the ''programs date'' of 1/1/1970, which made me think that my program got hacked. i then repaired+restarted the program, and it now has the correct date of 26/6/2017.

is the 1/1/1970 date a common reference to all hacker's about a historical event/a ''special'' milestone?

please help me out, thanks!

If Repair doesn't fix the problem, try the following:
Clean Install of Avast:
