New version with windows XP
« on: July 09, 2017, 07:31:01 PM »
I installed latest version.  I am running still Windows XP.

Now when I try to go to websites, after typing URL in Firefox, it just waits to connect.

If I disable all shields in avast it connects.

Does the latest version not work with windows XP?

Need some help anybody

Lookup the specifications for your cpu.
This little (free) tool is something you can use > http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

You can check at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSE2, under CPU support ...

Does it say what is not working to fully protect?  Do websites work with the older version installed?

Will check tonight.  I just see a little mark on the icon in the windows bar at the bottom showing avast is running.

Yes I downloaded the older version and it goes to the websites no problem, but not sure why it says not fully protected

Opening the user interface should tell you why "not fully protected".  It may just be the notification that a new version is available.
