Do MS Word exploits affect pages on Mac?
« on: July 10, 2017, 12:50:22 PM »
Amazingly, after a phone call with HMRC (or IRS for you US people) this morning, an email popped up in my inbox about one hour later from 'them' with an attached document (I had called them to ask them to send some documents)..

As soon as I clicked the doc file I realised this could be dodgy.

The doc file loaded up mac pages and was just a doc template with HMRC branding, but looking at the sender address, it's obviously a trojan.

So will .doc exploits work on Mac Pages? I don't think it has macros or anything dangerous like that?

Avast anti-virus didn't pick anything up and I have since scanned my computer and nothing's been picked up.

Is a hd format overkill?
