If I posted this in the wrong place, please let me know.

I keep getting the following message.

"A problem has occurred with bitdefender. A file containing information has been created at C;\Windows\temp\bitdefender threat scanner.dmp."
I've never installed or used bitdefender. I just found out that Avast uses programming from bitdefender. Any ideas??

As far as I'm aware avast has never used any bitdefender code and I have been using avast for over 13 years.

Have you ever used an online scanner from bitdefender ?

Lots of hist on a search for bitdefender threat scanner.dmp https://uk.search.yahoo.com/search?p=bitdefender+threat+scanner.dmp.

Also others getting a bitdefender when it isn't installed, https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/28179659/Getting-Bitdefender-Threat-Scanner-error-and-it-isn't-even-installed-on-computers.html. See the bitdefender.png image attached to the first post, are you also getting that too ?

Hi DavidR,

Is the user using Bitdefender Traffic Light extension inside the browser.
Never heard that interfering with avast?

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

Is isn't so much interfering with avast, but the OP thinking avast uses bitdefender.

The Bitdefender Traffic lights, as far as I'm aware doesn't do any local scanning, but it is certainly another avenue that needs checked.
