Hi to all,
I've a strange problem to solve with Avast IS. Here it is, described in its history: I try to be short.
The computer runs Win 10, 64 bits pro and is secured with AIS. All was running well until the user, my son, called me to explain a surprising behaviour. Oh, nothing special. Suddenly, all the agents were not running. A red cross in the task bar icon, and when he opened the Interface of the soft, the status was: not secured.
I told to my son, by phone, to reactivate the agents using the menu options. nothing changed.
More about the system configuration and incidents before AIS stopped to run properly.
This system is using a raid 5 disk system: 3 units of 1TB. A mother board chip allows this and, when I assembled this hardware, I've parameted the BIOS to get this chip running and got the system raid 5 on.
Avast is installed on one logical disk located on this raid 5 disk system.
A week ago, the parameter of the BIOS, regarding the raid 5 function, was mysteriously modified. The system couldn't access to the raid 5 volumes. I thing, probably, to the MB battery low.
So, at the well positioning of the BIOS parameter, the system could access to the RAID 5 disk again. But, between the time of BIOS problem and its re-parameter, my son has restarted the computer several times before having see that AVAST got a problem.
I think you've understood that AVAST couldn't start because of Windows couldn't find the program located in a logical disk into the raid 5 Hard disk.
Back to my problem once this exposed.
I think first to uninstall the soft and re-install it again following the right procedure. Uninstallation ran without any problem. SO, I ask to my son to run the AIS installation program, downloaded before uninstallation phase on avast server, the installation ran well until computer restart demand.
When the computer gave the hand, I think that the install process cannot end properly because my son never saw the avast prompt telling him the welcome.
Now, there is no Avast icon in the task bar: Avast is not running.
It's not possible to install another version of Avast, free one for example: the system tells to end the first installation...
What can I do the recover a safe system running a fully running AIS?
I hope you've followed me in my history and can help me to solve this situation.
A question, again: by running the uninstall program to this computer situation, will this problem be solved?
Thanks for your help,
regards,
Francis
