System overlay permission reset every time phone restarted.

I have just bought the xiaomi redmi note 4 and have a strange problem. Every time the phone restarts the overlay permission for Avast Anti Theft is reset to off and when the phone has booted I get a notification that there is an issue with anti theft, and when I tap on it I'm taken to the permission to re-engage system overlay.
Why does it keep being reset. Everything is totally up to date, and I have completely removed and reinstalled avast (so components, restarted phone and reinstalled it again). No change. Obviously the anti theft component is pointless if it keeps disabling itself.
Any ideas?

Hi, please try this:
- go to Xiaomi security app -> Permissions -> Other permissions -> Avast Mobile Security -> Display pop-up window -> Accept
- go to Xiaomi security app -> Permissions -> Other permissions -> Avast Mobile Security -> make sure it is allowed to run
