Hello,
issue was fixed by streaming updates.
Fix is present in streaming updates "c:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\defs\17083106_stream\pkg1708310600000001.bin" and earlier.

Thanks for your reply Milos.

Unfortunately the link you provided did not work for me.  The link did not take me anywhere.

c:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\defs\17083106_stream\pkg1708310600000001.bin

I have uninstalled avast and trying to reinstall it.  Now getting this error message when I try to run the download (image attached).

Hello,
the path I mentioned is meant in a way that if these files are present in your installation directory of Avast then the issue is fixed. These files are downloaded automatically if you have enabled automatic updates and Streaming updates in settings. Nothing have to be done manually.

Yes I realize it's a path, but there was nothing there.

I cannot get it to work.   I've been an avast user for many years, this is the first time I have had such trouble.

Have installed a different free antivirus.

Thanks for your time.
