Problem signing in to an Avast!
« on: July 29, 2017, 05:37:23 PM »
Hello,
I have Avast Free version 2017 17.5.2303, my problem is that I can not log in to this Avast program because there is no window with @ and password.

It looks like you haven't connected this installation/device to your avast account, but we can't tell as we can't see the home page of the UI (and I can't read Polish or convert/translate the message text in an image).

It is easier to post images on the forum as attachments, so those trying to help don't have to access third party sites.

See attached:
image1. What my UI shows in comparison to the one you linked to.
image2. My AvastUI home page shows, top right that the device it connected to my avast account.

As I said I can't see anything on your avastUI home page to see if it is even connected to the avast account as mine is.

If it is connected, showing your user name, then there is something wrong with the display.

An avast repair would be my first suggestion as for other UI display issues and a clean reinstall if the Repair doesn't work.

In my case, nothing is connected to the avast account, because you do not display these fields to enter data.
I uninstalled avast, reinstalled, and still can not enter the account data.
What's the problem?

I have told you you have to connect your installation to the avast account before you are going to be able to connect/logon to it from the avast User Interface.

That is why posted second image, if yours doesn't look like mine then you won't see the user name (obscured in my image) clicking that same area should allow you to connect to an account.

Without to be log , You should have something that looks like the top of my pic (se connecter - log in - połączyć ?)
Strange because your pic should look like the bottom of my pic with @ and pwd .
Maybe something wrong in polish UI ?

That was what I was thinking as the UI isn't complete and why I suggested a Repair or clean install if the Repair doesn't resolve the missing UI elements.

@DavidR
It does not work for me.

@ chris05
I do not have this window with the @ and password.
I downloaded an extra English language to avast and it did not work for me.

What did you do that doesn't work ?

Saying it doesn't work, without giving details of what you did (and any errors, etc) doesn't give us any information to work with.

Both chris05 and I have effectively said your UI isn't displaying correctly and you should try an Avast Repair, or a clean reinstall of avast if the Repair didn't work.  Have you done this ?

Yes,by answering David's question (yesterday)  without explanation, we might rather think that it is the repair and the clean instalation that does not work.

Even if I think you want to talk about entering datas in display which still does not work (with the English UI)

However , you only said yesterday:
Quote
I uninstalled avast, reinstalled, and still can not enter the account data.
What you have done here
is not a repair -> did you tried ?
Nor it is a clean instal -> so , also try it if repair doesn't work at first.

It is now that you have tried with the English UI certainly more the solution than a Polish UI display issue , I think ?

This account does not work for me because I uninstalled avast and reinstalled it.
I tried to uninstall avast and reinstalled it, even using aswClear in safe mode and it did not work.
