INSTALLING ROBOFORM IN AVAST
« on: July 31, 2017, 11:22:35 PM »
Was unsure where to post this question, but have been researching forum for answer over a few days and couldn't find one.  I realize that Avast wants me to use their password manager, and I have actually tried to do so, but unfortunately I can't seem to get it to work for multi-layer passwords where you have more than one password screen (as for banks).  Also, can't get it to work for where there are several different logins, but they all start at the same jumping off point - e.g. several bills I pay.  I have had Roboform for years, which covers all these scenarios, but since I really like the Avast Safe Browser and especially the Bank Mode for my bank, PayPal and to pay my bills, I wanted to install RF since it takes care of these other areas.  However, when I try to do so, I get the message that it was not downloaded because Avast could not determine its security status (my words not exact Avast wording).  It does not even give me the option, like other browsers do, to say that I trust RF and still want to download it, albeit at my own risk.  Is there any workaround for this problem or am I just out of luck?  Thanks for any help.

I DL'd RF from the main site and installed and it didn't integrate into avast. I tried all the option within the program for dragging the icon to avast addon/extension page and got this is unsafe and would not let it be installed. I tried copying and pasting the RF dll file itself into dll avast folder but never could get permission to copy no matter how I changed all the security options- once closed it became read only again even as i was the owner, princ., all permissions allowed, auditing, etc. So, anyone please help and provide me step by step instructions on how to get roboform to work within avast safe zone browser? I am new to this sort of thing, so please provide the "dummy" guide for me. Thanks.

So to patticat: once you DL'ed the Rf file, what the heck you do with it?

Dale

Don't think you can integrate another PW manager into SafeZone Browser. It's designed to use the PW manager Avast provides.
I don't know if the paid version of Avast's PW Mgr. has the features that Patticat needed.
