USB Mass Storage Devices Are No Longer Found
« on: August 05, 2017, 05:38:16 PM »
Hi there,

since recently I could use whatever USB-device on my PC. It might be an unlucky cooincident,
but since I used the Avast-Clean-Up-Tool, I have no longer access to any usb-mass-storage-devices.
They used to work properly on this PC and do still work without any problems on other
win10 machines... All other usb-devices work smooth and fine....

To proof Avast innocent in this case, I'd like to deinstall Avast and test the devices again.
Unluckily, I can't safe my passwords (such option does not exist under <passwords>).

I use Avast premier v. 17.5.2303.

Comments and help highly appreciated....

T.

Hi bob3160,

thanks for the link. Unfortunately none of the suggested steps helped. I can see the correct device name of each attached mass storage under <other devices>...

Password is a section under privacy. A password safe in avast premier...

Passwords are stored in the cloud. After you reinstall avast, you can again access them via PW manager. Simply sign in and you'll have access to the saved passwords. All versions of Avast come with a PW manager. Yes, there is also a paid version. (I've never used it.)
