HELp! Warnings of Trojan Horse/Adware keeps popping up
« on: April 22, 2006, 12:33:49 PM »
hi there,

im a novice with computers and downloaded avast from suggestions on the web.

Recently I have been getting 4 warnings in a row EVERY five minutes! ???

The warning popup states the following;

A Trojan Horse Was Found!  There is no reason to worry, though. Avast! has stopped the malware before it could enter your computer.  When you click on the '' Abort connection'' button, the download of the dangerous file will be canceled.

File name: http://85.255.117.133/users/smart/web/files/encodex.jpg
Malware name: Win32: Agent -IU (Trj)
Malware type: Trojan Horse
VPS version: 0616-4, 04/21/2006

The only option it gives me is to "Abort Connection."

I know these are warnings, but I think it has actually affected a couple of my files.  But I dont understand why these warning popups continually popup every five minutes!

The other virus warnings that pop up include the following;

Win 32: Small-EK (Trj)

Win 32: Adan-094 (Adw) Adware

Win 32: Adan-078 (Adw) Adware

Does anyone have a solution to this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! :D

While Avast detects trojans and can deal with some effectively on a boot scan (check your help files for how) this is best dealt with by programs like EWIDO  or SPYBOT or ADAWARE.
They are all available here and are free. http://spyros.atspace.com/
good luck  :)
