Avast! v Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands
« on: April 17, 2017, 10:29:31 PM »
hey all,

First of all ive been using your Internet Security for over a year without a problem until last week. I bought Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands on Steam and this is when it happened - i could not play the game or get past the loading screen, i did try everything under the sun and even turned off Avast! processes to which this did not help. After been told by a friend to uninstall and do a reboot, i so tried and i was able to play my game! Only problem is that i can not install Avast! otherwise this stops me from playing the game. Ive had no other problem with any of my games from UBISOFT.

So, to conclude i guess it's something to do with Avast! been too 'restricting' with just this game!?

Please could you look into this and let me know when it's fixed so i can install my Internet Security again and have both running/playing at the same time

Regards
Mark

Disable port scanning in the firewall and see if it solves the problem.

Please (re)search before posting.
Things like this have been reported many times and the solution is also given many times.

Does disabling Self-Defence via Settings>Troubleshooting solve the issue?

Disable the shields one at a time to see if any of them is causing the problem.

There's currently a bug with the Self-Defence which stops application such as Paint Shop Pro from running.

A reply to a 4 month old question is totally useless. This was a bug that's long since been patched.
