Email Infections Avast finds what happens to them
« on: August 13, 2017, 04:10:28 PM »
Hi - I am getting a ton of 'Pop up's', when Avast finds and blocks these what does it do with them? - do they still exist on my computer in a safe location?
In my Shield Info 'Pop up' it is referring to 66gb next to the Mail Shield, what is the 66gb? is that the amount of email infections it has found? and if it has, where are they?

Sadly, no. When Avast flags an email infection has been discovered via (Pop up alert) I am unsure and can't find an answer to 'what has it done with the infected discovery', has Avast deleted it, Quarantined it. What does it do with the discovered infected emails.

avast does what you have said it to do with infections.

Did you remove the infected mail(s) from the server ?

Thanks for replying

There are about 100 a day that flag up - far to many for a person to go onto the server IMAP accounts and individually remove them - I have a dedicated server with root access, is there a way a server can delete these found emails automatically.?

Do you have antivirus on the mail server?

Ofcourse there is.
It is called good security, a owner/admin who is knowing what he is doing.
