Avast 4.7.817 [A-ball icon not spinning]

Since I updated my Avast Home Edition to the lastest update, The Avast Icon in my tray doesn't spin when scanning.  Is this normal with the most recent update?  I want to make sure I am still scanning properly.  Thanks.......DCR.

Double click it and see the number of scanned files. Is it increasing?

Uninstalled and then downloaded.  Took care of problem.  Thanks for the reply......DCR.
