Inappropriate Ads
« on: August 17, 2017, 11:25:03 PM »
Is there no way to report inappropriate ads? Every time I turn on my phone, there's an ad with an emoji guy flipping me off. Do I really need to be flipped off every time I turn my phone on? I don't mind the ads, but this is rubbish. Definitely worth uninstalling Avast if that's the only way I can get rid of offensive and inappropriate ads.

Whilst it is rare that I turn my phone off, but on that rare occasion I haven't seen this ad occurrence.

There are occasions when I do see ads that I know are related to AMS free. When avast does its periodic scans there is an icon in the notification area, when you open that - it asks if I want to see what it found - any fool that clicks this will get some ads.  If anything had been found, I would have expected AMS to notify me then and there.

Do you have any other avast mobile apps installed ?
I'm wondering about avast battery saver (or any other battery saver app), given that this would appear to be happening after battery charging.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

I am saying the ad is from Avast, Eddie. I'm not the complete moron you seem to think I am, and there's no need to be an unhelpful jerk. Also, I will not be exhorted into paying for software to remove inappropriate ads.

As I said before, I don't really mind the regular ads, and the Avast ones are usually decent quality, but this one was a bit much.

If Avast doesn't filter the ads they display, you would think they would provide a way to report them.

This one is definitely associated with the battery saver app. A very cool app, but it may have to go. I have kids, lol.

I never said you are a moron nor did I say I think you are one.
I simply asked you a question and told you that ads can be disabled in paid versions.
