I have "unprotected" everyday!

Everyday at some point, I have to "resolve" the issue that Avast isn´t protecting anymore...
That is alright, but the on-mode isn´t there for more than 24hs...
I thought it was a default on-mode from the start, but how to do that I cannot find...

Repair Avast:
1. Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs -> Avast
2. Click on 'Repair'.
3. Follow instructions.
4. Reboot.

In my experience, this never works, I've checked other forums, it's a Windows 7 issue.
