There is something I do not understand.
What is wsc_proxy.exe (remediation service)
This runs when auto update is on but not manual!

Yes, I have done 'repair uninstall & reinstall

I don't know the full technical details, but I believe wsc_proxy is a helper tool to communicate with Windows Security Center (to report the state of the antivirus to WSC etc.)
Are you saying that the process is running all the time for you?

It only runs if I have 'auto update' running.
It does not run if I use 'manual update'
