is it normal?
« on: August 24, 2017, 01:17:14 PM »
umm Guys my Sister uses Smadav antivirus on her laptop and i use avast premire

but most of the time my computer always state that some removable devices are safe but when i put them on her computer then her smadav will state that a virus has been detected while my avast cant even detect that virus ....what can be the problem?or the virus isnt included on my definitions?

My Question what may be causing my avast not to detect the malware ??

A question you'd be better off asking on the Smadav (whatever that is) antivirus forum.

Ditch Smadav and use McShield.

Not trying to hijack this thread... but since it's been mentioned here...

I was wondering if MCShield is being maintained? --- The program was last updated in 2014 (12 April), with its most recent database in 2016 (21 Feb).

I have been using MCShield, as suggested/recommended in this forum, for several years now.
Lenovo T530 laptop, Intel Core i5-3320M @ 2.60 GHz, 8GB RAM, Windows 7 Pro SP1 (64-bit), avast! 17 Free, MBAM3 Pro, Windows Firewall, MVPS HOSTS file, OpenDNS Family Shield, Zemana AntiLogger Free, SpywareBlaster, IE11 & Firefox [both using WOT (IE set to WARN, FF set to BLOCK)], WinPatrol PLUS, uBlock Origin, MBAE, MCShield, CryptoPrevent, SAS (on-demand scanner).
[I believe computer-users who sandbox (Sandboxie) are acting prudently.]

@ky331  This is already asked in the none avast product section

Last program update 2014
Last signature update 2016

MCShield does not need signatures to do its work, it does so by behaviour and signatures are mostly to avoid False Positives
Also be aware that MCShield is not a antivirus and that it ONLY target those malware types that try to jump disk. There is a limitation in ways that they can do this and all known infection vectors are known to MCShield
